You all probably know by now all about good gamesmanship. If you’ve ever played sports or a board game, you know its good to not be a sore loser, and its also not good to rub your victory in to your friend’s face when you’ve just beaten them.
But did you know that good gamesmanship should also apply when you play games online?
For example, in Toontown, it is easy to get frustrated when you try to play on the new courses at the Bossbot Headquarters. Last time I tried to play, I spent over 5 minutes trying to find a golf cart where a toon wouldn’t jump off at the last minute. This causes a waste of everyone’s time and takes away from the fun of the game.
Try to think about how you want your gaming experience to be, and then be courteous to other kids and give them the same experience that you want to have.
So next time you log in to play, be kind to your fellow kids. Don’t get on the golf cart until you are actually ready to play, and don’t jump off once you’ve gotten on, unless of course, you are the one left sitting alone in the cart. Don’t get on an elevator with other toons to take down a cog building and then hop off just as the countdown is about done. Don’t leave in the middle of a cog fight, or in the middle of taking down a cog building.
Try to remember how it would feel if you were the one that wanted to accomplish a goal, and other player’s were doing things that made it impossible to do.
If we all practice good gamesmanship while playing, then we will all have a great time in game!
