La Tale took the time answer a few questions from us here at Ten Ton Hamster. This new side scroller MMO is truly unlike any other. In this interview they give us an in depth look at gameplay, PvP, and more! They even give us some great tips like how to level up faster and spend your coins wisely. 1. What makes La Tale different from other side-scroller MMO's?

We feel that La Tale offers a far more immersive experience than other side-scrolling MMO games. The game features a console-style gameplay that makes it easier to just pick the game up and start playing, yet it is action-packed and exciting enough to keep players of all experience levels challenged and entertained. The game also features gorgeous artwork and music as well as a storyline that is far deeper than most MMO games.

2. I loved exploring all the different cities. Are you planning on adding any more in the future?

La Tale was created to appeal to players from all over the world, so we created cities that reflect various world cultures. Our current cities – Belos, Elias, and Yong Gyung – represent Northern Europe, South Korea, and China. In the coming months, players will be able to explore cities that contain elements of Japan and the United States as well as various Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern cultures. We hope that players will have fun roaming around the cities and that they find aspects of these cities that they can identify with and easily recognize.

3. Are you adding any new features to the new upcoming version of La Tale?

The coming months will be full of new features that are just waiting to be unlocked, but we are also constantly listening to the community to create new features that people will enjoy. We are currently working on creating chat rooms where players can meet, hang out, and casually talk with their friends. We are also working on some cool new additions to our guild room system.

4. Will there be any kind of PVP?

PvP combat in La Tale is all done in the Fight Arena – a unique battleground where player stats are temporarily boosted and power-up items can shift the course of the fight. At first, players will only be matched randomly, but in the months that follow, we will introduce systems where players can pick their opponents, guild PvP, and PvP tournaments.

5. What was your inspiration when creating such unique and almost artistic monsters.

The funny thing is that our inspirations for these unique characters are mythological creatures from various world cultures. We studied these creatures and the mythology they came from, and once we really understood them, we re-imagined them so that they fit into the beautiful world of La Tale.

6. I was really impressed with how easy the game was to figure out and start leveling. Did your team purposefully design it that way?

When we first created La Tale, we wanted to make sure that players of all ages and experience levels could get into the game and enjoy it. As we got further into the process, we started to design content that would challenge more experienced players while still making sure that the game was always enjoyable for more casual players.

7. Can you give us some insider tips on leveling up faster?

The best way to level up faster is to make friends. When you join a party, you can participate in party quests which help you level up quicker. In addition, each friend you have in your party adds to the amount of experience received from quests and monsters, so it pays to play with your friends!

8. When I first started playing La Tale I felt like i wasn't using my coins wisely. What's the smartest way to spend your coins when you first start playing?

While there are various strategies, your best bet is to immediately build your defense and then your offense. You will have a better chance of gaining more Ely if you have a strong enough armor to keep you fighting. If you have enough Ely, always try to buy armor from the Item Trade 2 selection because these armor items give your character extra defensive bonuses. Once you have some armor you like, press K to bring up your skills and unlock some attacks for your favorite weapon. Unlocking attacks and other skills cost Ely, but attacks make combat far easier and more exciting.

9. What safety features do you have in place for chat?

We want to make sure that La Tale is a safe, fun place to play. To do this, we are constantly checking our chat filter to make sure that nothing offensive gets through. We also have our team of GMs monitoring the game chat and our helpdesk to make sure that there are no cases of abusive language or actions.

10. What's your favorite aspect of the game? Something you think players should know.

My favorite aspect of the game is the amazing attention to detail we put into the game’s development. Each stage of the game has its own unique musical score and sound effects, meaning that we have over 100 songs in the game. We also put quite a bit of effort into making sure that each NPC has a life of their own, including unique characteristics, personality, and story to tell. I hope that players take a moment to really appreciate just how much detail went into this game and enjoy them.
