Gnosis Games is known for developing multiplayer hard core First Person Shooter (FPS) games. We had the opportunity to sit down with Dan Irish, CEO of Gnosis Games, and talk about a completely new gaming concept involving flash based games and some of your most loved social networks: Facebook, MySpace, and Bebo (the European version).
Gnosis Games is the first professional game development studio to be in all three of these platforms and they are very proud of that achievement. This gives them a broad spectrum view of what users want to play in the way of games because Facebook and Bebo have a specific demographic, and MySpace has a slightly older demographic. Dan Irish had this to say about these games, “Essentially, these social networks have become the TV channel of the 21st century and we are the TV show.”
These are flash based multiplayer games that allow players to compete in the online space using Facebook, MySpace, or Bebo as a platform. There are several fun games within their initial launch game Candace Kane’s Candy Factory. These games include Piñata Bash, Sugar Blitz, Seek & Find, and Candy Factory.
These mini games are fun, challenging, and puzzle based. You can compete with your Facebook, MySpace, or Bebo friends for high scores and bragging rights. One fun game is Pinata Bash. You can bash your piñata for candy and sweets. Your friend can come to your Facebook page and bash your piñata as well and see if he/she can beat your high score and also leave with some candy of their own!
The initial demo for Candy Factory was launched in February 2008, and had over 300,000 downloads! The Facebook, MySpace, Bebo application launched in March 2008. Candace Kane’s Candy Factory was nominated as Best Casual Game of the year (2007) by the Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts Currently, Candace Kane’s Candy Factory is downloadable on PC or Mac for $19.99 and will be able to be purchased in retail stores by October 2008.
Gnosis Games plans on adding many more games as the year progresses. Keep an eye out so you and your friends can get together and bash some Pinata’s together! You can follow this link to check out all about Gnosis Games and Candace Kane’s Candy Factory
